Goros Mary St Win a Trip to Japan Competition – Terms and Conditions
1. The Promotion is conducted by Solotel Management Pty Limited as trustee for the Solotel Management Unit Trust ABN 85 498 091 676, whose registered office is at Level 2, 429 New South Head Road Double Bay NSW 2028 (Promoter).
2. Only residents of Australia aged 18 years of age or older (Participant) are eligible for the
Competition.
3. The following person(s) are ineligible to enter the Competition:
a) employees of:
I. the Promoter; and
II. the Promoter’s related bodies corporate (as that expression is defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) and associated agencies, companies and contractors; or
b) members of the Immediate Families of the employees referred to at paragraph 3(a). Immediate family means any of: a spouse or domestic partner, ex- spouse or ex-domestic partner, de-facto spouse or ex-de-facto spouse, child or step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step parent, grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step brother, step sister or first cousin.
4. The Competition commences on Wednesday, 2 April 08:00 and ends on Monday 12 May 2025 at 17:00 (Competition Period). The Promoter may extend the Competition Period at its sole discretion (Extended Competition Period). Details of any Extended Competition Period will be published on https://www.goros.com.au/win-trip-japan References in these terms and conditions to the Promotion Period include any Extended Promotion Period, where applicable.
5. To enter the Competition, Participants must be a NSW resident and subscribe to the Goros email database by submitting an online form available at https://www.goros.com.au/ within the Competition Period.
6. For the Participant to be eligible to compete in the Competition, each of the following must be satisfied:
a) the Participant must enter the Competition:
I. within the Competition Period; and
II. by the method specified in paragraph 5 above.
7. The first correct and eligible entry drawn will win a trip to Japan to the value of $7,400 (Prize). The Prize comprises of a prize package for two (2) people, for travel in June or July 2025 includes:
I. Return economy airfares for two (2) people between Sydney, NSW and Tokyo, Japan;
II. Four (4) nights’ accommodation in a minimum three (3) star property in Tokyo (twin/double share);
III. Three (3) nights’ accommodation in a minimum three (3) star property in Kyoto (twin/double share);
IV. Return train transfers for two (2) people between Tokyo and Kyoto on the Shinkansen;
V. A guided tour of the Asahi Brewery for two (2) people (winner will need to bring their own headphones for Japanese-to-English translation; seasonal snacks and beer tasting provided post-tour);
VI. Two (2) return tickets on the R Tokaido-Sanyo Line between Kyoto and Suita Station for the Asahi Brewery visit;
VII. Dinner for two (2) people at a premium Kyoto restaurant following the brewery tour;
VIII. AU$500 spending money (winner only); and
IX. All winner management by Mavel, including securing liability/publicity release paperwork, all bookings, itinerary management, and 24-hour phone support for the winner while travelling.
8. 150 semi-finalists will be shortlisted via random number generation software and invited to the grand draw night of Goros Mary St on Saturday 10 May 2025, where the winner will be randomly drawn and announced. The winner will be drawn out of the semi-finalists who are in attendance at the event. The announcement of the winner will also be made on https://www.goros.com.au/ and https://www.instagram.com/gorosmaryst/ on Monday
12 May 2025.
9. The winner will be emailed by Solotel to organise their prize.
10. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that was submitted in a manner considered by the Promoter to be inappropriate, which may include, but is not limited to, actions relating to computer hacking, breach of copyright or other intellectual property rights and actions that breach any relevant laws.
12. At the time of collecting the prize the winner will be required to confirm their identity by
producing such photo identification as may be directed by the Promoter.
13. The prize is not redeemable for cash and is personal to the winner. It cannot be transferred, exchanged or otherwise dealt with.
14. Travel must be booked within two (2) months of successfully claiming the prize and being
verified as a valid winner, and the travel must be booked at least sixty (60) days prior to the intended travel departure date. All travel must be completed within 12 months of the prize draw. Tickets can be used for the same trip on exact same dates and routing. Once fare is purchased the ticket is subject to fare rules. Frequent Flyer mileage accumulation is not permitted. Flights must be redeemed through Mavel Group Pty Ltd.
15. Prize is a single event holiday and cannot be separated into different holiday vacations.
16. The winner must select a guest with a minimum age of 18 years.
17. The winner and their guest/s are responsible for ensuring that they have valid passports
(including 6 months validity from the date of scheduled return to Australia), and any requisite visas, vaccinations and travel documentation at their own expense.
18. The winner and their travel companion(s) must meet all travel requirements and conditions of entry for all third-party suppliers (i.e Hotels, Airlines, Restaurants, Events, Activity suppliers etc).
19. All passengers must travel together on the same flights and stay at the same property.
20. The winner and their guest acknowledge that the legal drinking age in Japan is 20 years of age.
21. No compensation or alternative travel plans will be arranged should the Prize winner and/ or their guest miss their outbound or return flights or fail to meet any check in requirements for any reason. These costs will be the responsibility and expense of the winner and travel partner.
22. A credit card imprint may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel for all incidental charges.
23. The winner must provide their bank account details (or account name and postal address
for cheque) in order for the spending money portion of the prize to be awarded to their nominated account, via EFT transfer. Winner is responsible for providing full and accurate bank details. The Promoter will not be responsible for incorrect details being provided, a banking institution rejecting an EFT payment, or any costs associated with locating any lost monies.
24. Once booking is confirmed no changes are allowed, unless otherwise authorised by the Promoter in its absolute discretion and if permitted will incur a fee of $165 per person (including GST) plus supplier charges which is payable by the winner.
25. Where the prize is cancelled due to unforeseen travel restrictions relating to COVID-19
(as determined by the applicable Local or Federal Government), the Prizing Agency will use its best endeavours to reschedule to an alternative date (one revision only). The winner acknowledges that, in this instance, some elements of the trip may be non-refundable and therefore that element of the prize will be forfeited when re-booking. Any further date changes permitted (as a result of Government determined COVID restrictions) will be determined by the Promoter’s in its absolute discretion.
26. Travel suppliers/airlines to be chosen at the discretion of Mavel Group (the Prizing Agency).
27. Travel itinerary will be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
28. Should the Winner wish to extend their trip, permission must be sought from the Promoter who will decide in its absolute discretion. In the event the Promoter agrees for the Winner to extend, all additional expenses to extend will be at the Winner’s own expense, including any additional cost to extend their travel insurance policy by additional days, to ensure continuity of cover for the full duration of the trip.
29. Travel insurance is highly recommended and at the expense of the winner. If the winner chooses not to purchase travel insurance they will be required to complete a travel insurance waiver form acknowledging that they understand the benefits of travel insurance but decline to take out a policy.
30. In the event that an element of the prize is cancelled or postponed for any reason, the winner forfeits the specified element and no cash alternative offer will be granted in lieu of the part of the prize.
31. Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses become the
responsibility of the major prize winner and their companion including but not limited to all meals, spending money, incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls and all other ancillary costs.
32. The winner and guest/s agree that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation apart from the Promoter or Mavel Group.
33. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence or wilful misconduct) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using any prize (or recommendation), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
34. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety of the destination and it is the responsibility of the winner and their companion (if any) to check the travel advice issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at www.smartraveller.gov.au and assess the safety of the destination country prior to travel.
35. Availability cannot be guaranteed during Christmas, School holiday and special event periods.
36. By entering into the Competition the Participant is deemed to have accepted these terms
and conditions.
37. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify rights which the Participant may have under any law (including the Australian Consumer Law) which may not be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement (Your Consumer Rights). Subject to Your Consumer Rights, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage however caused (including by negligence), suffered or incurred in connection with the Competition or any prize. Any condition or warranty which would be implied by law into these terms and conditions is excluded.
38. Solotel is the sole Promoter only. Asahi is the main sponsor involved and is one of the suppliers of the prize to the winner, and the terms and conditions of Asahi apply to the supply of the prize.
39. As a condition of accepting a prize, the winner, and any other person(s) sharing the prize
with the winner, may be required to sign legal documentation in the form in Annexure A.
40. All entries become the property of the Promoter.
41. By subscribing to the Goros database, Participants confirm that they would like to receive
information about the products and services offered by Goros. By providing their personal information, they agree that they may be contacted periodically, including via email and telephone, until they inform Solotel otherwise. They also agree to the terms of the Solotel Privacy Policy. All personal information collected by Solotel is stored and managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
42. The Promoter may cancel the competition and not award the prize(s) where circumstances beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control prevent the Promoter from providing the prize(s). Should the Promoter cancel the Competition the Promoter will:
a) advertise that the Competition has been cancelled by placing a notice on https://www.goros.com.au/ ;
b) promptly destroy all entries received; and
c) not use the personal information that any Participant has provided.

Personal information you provide to Solotel Management Pty Limited as trustee for the Solotel Management Unit Trust ABN 85 498 091 676 by signing up to the Goros database (or otherwise providing your details) may be used for purposes related to the operation of our business including administering the relevant Competition, advising you and the public if you are the winner, providing and improving our products and services and, unless you opt out or by contacting us, communicating with you on an ongoing basis for market research and/or with information about any products or services we think you may be interested in at Goros Mary St. This may be by any means of communication including telephone and electronic messages (e.g. email). If the information requested is not provided, you will not be able to enter the Competition.
We take steps to ensure that we only collect personal information which is relevant to our dealings with the particular individuals and which is reasonably necessary for the Competition or our other business activities.
We generally collect personal information directly from individuals through our marketing, sales, business development, operations, human resources, research or other activities. However, in some cases, personal information may be collected from third parties.
We may disclose your personal information to other Solotel Group entities, or a third party service provider, or other entities that assist us in running our business. Annexure A - Limitation of Liability and release deed poll

Suppliers: Solotel Management Pty Limited as trustee for the Solotel Management Unit Trust ABN 85 498 091 676, whose registered office is at Level 2, 429 New South Head Road Double Bay NSW 2028, and any of its employees, officers, contractors, volunteers or agents.
1. RISK WARNING: Participating in the Competition and/or acceptance of and use of the prize granted in respect of the Competition involves the risk of physical injury, death or damage to property.
2. To the extent that the Competition or the prize involves the supply of ‘recreational services’ as defined by the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), or equivalent state or territory legislation (as applicable) other than the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic), the Suppliers are not liable in respect of any consumer guarantee relating to the supply of the services under the Australian Consumer Law for:
a) death;
b) physical or mental injury (including the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of such an injury) suffered by you;
c) the contraction, aggravation or acceleration of a disease;
d) the coming into existence, the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of any other condition, circumstance, occurrence, activity, form of behaviour, course of conduct or state of affairs:
I. that is or may be harmful or disadvantageous to you; or
II. that may result in harm or disadvantage to you.
3. You are responsible for obtaining a duly signed Limitation of Liability and Release Deed Poll from each person who uses the prize. If you do not deliver to the Suppliers a duly signed Limitation of Liability and Release Deed Poll from a person who uses the prize you indemnify the Suppliers against all claims, liabilities or costs which a Supplier may suffer or incur which arise out of or in connection with any matter for which a Supplier would have been released if a duly signed Limitation of Liability and Release Deed poll had been received.
